Basic Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, combine the boxed fudge brownie mix with the required egg, oil, and water according to package instructions. Stir until smooth, then pour into a greased 8x8 baking dish. Bake for 35–45 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool completely.
  2. Melt 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter in a saucepan over low heat. Whisk in ½ teaspoon of strawberry extract, 2 tablespoons of heavy whipping cream, and 2 cups of powdered sugar until smooth. Add ¼ teaspoon of red food coloring if desired. Spread this layer over the cooled brownies.
  3. Heat ½ cup of heavy whipping cream in a separate saucepan until it simmers. Remove from heat and pour over ¾ cup of dark chocolate chips in a bowl. Let sit for 4–5 minutes before whisking until smooth. Pour over the strawberry layer.
  4. Let the ganache-covered brownies sit at room temperature for about 15–30 minutes to set. Prepare any garnishes during this time.
  5. Once set, slice the brownies into squares. Drizzle with chocolate syrup and top with fresh strawberries or whipped cream if desired. Serve chilled or at room temperature.
