  • 1 large Egg beaten for brushing

  • 1 wheel Brie Cheese at room temperature
  • 4 tablespoons Honey or maple syrup
  • ½ cup Chopped Pecans optional, can substitute with walnuts
For Flavoring
  • 4 tablespoons Fig Preserves or apricot/raspberry preserves
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Thyme Leaves or rosemary
  • 1 pinch Black Pepper optional
  • 2 tablespoons Coarse Sugar optional for topping

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface until about 1/4 inch thick.
  3. Place the wheel of Brie cheese in the center of the puff pastry.
  4. Drizzle honey generously over the Brie.
  5. Spread fig preserves evenly over the honey-drizzled Brie.
  6. Add fresh thyme leaves over the fig preserves, and sprinkle with black pepper if desired.
  7. Fold the edges of the puff pastry over the Brie, sealing tightly.
  8. Brush the pastry with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
  9. Optional: Sprinkle coarse sugar over the pastry before baking.
  10. Scatter chopped pecans over the top if using.
  11. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the pastry is golden brown.
  12. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
  13. Serve warm with crostini or fresh fruits.
